Excerpt from the interview press kit :
How did the project begin?
Muna: “One day, when I was in the hospital, I was explaining to a nurse how much I no longer wanted to fight or live with this weight. She told me that I wasn’t alone, that I was part of the strong women who had survived a heavy ordeal, that I could turn my voice into strength and move forward with this past.
I started gathering information and looking for testimonies. I realized that rape was still a subject far too taboo, one that people remain silent about "out of shame," and that victims don't really want to talk about. Rarely do they discuss all the difficulties of rebuilding. I thought to myself, "Why shouldn’t I do this? Why shouldn’t I lay myself bare in front of this trauma?" I then shared with those around me my desire to create a project in which we would film the long process I was about to embark on... And that’s when I crossed paths with Juliette.”
Juliette: “We were introduced through a friend in 2019. Muna wanted to turn her story into a film, and I had just graduated from film school. She spoke very openly about her experiences and her desire to share them publicly. I was deeply moved by her strength, her past, and the impact of traumatic memory. There was a sense of urgency to make the film quickly.”
